ARSENE WENGER TO LEAVE ARSENAL AT THE END OF THE SEASON





Arsene Wenger has announced he is stepping down as Arsenal manager at the end of the season after managing Arsenal for 22 years. Wenger won 3 Premier league titles and 7 F.A cups in his 22 year spell at Arsenal. Wenger issued a statement that caught everyone by surprise announcing his departure and thanking the club for letting him serve for "so many memorable years".
He added: "I am grateful for having the previlege to serve the club for so many memorable years, I managed the club with full commitment and integrity.
"To all Arsenal lovers, take care of the values of the club. My love and support forever".
Arsenal said a new manager will be appointed "as soon as possible". Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke described Wenger's announcement as "one of the most difficult days we have ever had in all our years in sport".

Wenger was appointed on 1 Oct 1996, he is the Premier League's current longest-serving manager and has taken charge of a record 823 games. His performance at arsenal declined in previous 2 seasons, and some fans have turned on to the Frenchman over the past two seasons.Wenger won his seventh FAcup last season, beating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley, but finished 18 points behind Premier Leaague champions Chelsea.

The Frenchman departs a year before his latest contract was due to expire. Wenger's stepping down is a great loss for Arsenal and for Arsenal's fans.Arsenal finished outside the top 4 last season for the first time since Wenger arrived at the club. They will face Spanish side Atletico Madrid in Europa league semi finals, with the first leg on Thrusday. It will be quite interesting to see who will replace Arsene Wenger at the end of the season at Arsenal.
